Conway, S.C. has officially welcomed the season of crunching leaves, cozy sweaters, and of course, pumpkins! Thompson Farm opened its gates this weekend, marking the start of its 16th season, and folks, it’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting ones yet!
If you’ve visited the farm in past years, you know every season is a little different. One thing that never changes? The charming pumpkin patch that draws families from all around! Want to know a fun fact? Pumpkins can’t be grown right on the coast, so the farm makes a point to source them from local farmers here in South Carolina. Christina Burzler, the farm’s manager, shared, “We really want to support locals because we appreciate people who support our business, which is a small business as well.” Now, that’s the kind of community spirit we love to see!
This year, Thompson Farm has taken it up a notch. Gone are the days of simple jumping pads – they’ve replaced them with a massive jumping pillow that is sure to get everyone, yes even the adults, bouncing with joy! For those looking for a bit more of an action-packed fun time, they’ve also added target paintball to the roster of activities. Yup, that’s right! Get your friends together and see who’s got the best aim!
But that’s not all! Thompson Farm has partnered with none other than country music superstar Luke Bryan to create a super cool Luke Bryan-themed corn maze. Doesn’t that sound like a blast? “It’s been a tough secret,” Christina said, “we started working with Luke’s team back in March, so we really start early on in the season so we can go ahead and plan for next season.” Talk about awesome planning!
And here’s even better news for the folks who love their fall fun. Thompson Farm is staying open for an extra weekend this year! That means more time for families to enjoy picking pumpkins, navigating the corn maze, and making lasting memories together. Whether you want to take some adorable photos or get lost in the maze, it’s the perfect spot for a fantastic fall day!
After this season wraps up, the team at Thompson Farm doesn’t just kick back and relax. Nope! They hit the road to visit other farms across the nation, soaking up fresh ideas and inspiration for next year. So, you can bet they’ll be back next season with even more surprises!
So, if you haven’t already, gather your family and friends and head down to Thompson Farm for a day full of fun! With new attractions, the classic pumpkin patch, and a corn maze that pays homage to a country music star, there’s something for everyone! Let’s make some fall memories, Myrtle Beach!
