In the heart of Conway, the spirit of giving shines brightly with an exciting event that promises to bring the community together this Thanksgiving season. The Bethlehem #1 Missionary Baptist Church is all set to host its second annual Thanksgiving Community and Fellowship Dinner on Wednesday, Nov. 27. Mark your calendars because this heartwarming gathering aims to spread joy through delicious food and companionship!
The event organizers have been hard at work for days, preparing to serve a community that appreciates the true meaning of Thanksgiving. Volunteer Jackie Mott shared her enthusiasm about the occasion, saying, “It’s Thanksgiving, and I’m just thankful that I’m able to, you know, prepare a meal and help someone who might not have a Thanksgiving dinner.” This sentiment is echoed throughout the church, where the focus is genuinely on helping others.
Last year’s inaugural event was a hit, serving over 200 people who came together to enjoy a festive meal. This year, organizers have their sights set even higher, hoping to feed even more hungry stomachs and warm hearts within the community. “We’ll be surprised, especially during this time of the season. There are some who we have, the haves and the have-nots,” said Pastor Sonny Bridges. It’s a lovely reminder that, especially during the holidays, it’s important to ensure everyone feels included and valued.
When it comes to food, the dinner will feature all the traditional Thanksgiving classics—from golden turkey, savory dressing, and sweet potatoes, to collards and an array of tempting desserts like cake and pie. It sounds like the perfect feast! Everyone is invited to attend and partake in the celebration. Want to enjoy the delicious food at home? No worries! Take-out options are also available, although most folks prefer to sit down, eat, and chat with friends and family for a while.
The fellowship dinner will kick off at 4 p.m. and run until 7 p.m. at the church located at 1503 Dirty Branch Road in Conway. It’s a wonderful chance to bring your loved ones or meet new friends during this festive time of the year. Whether you’re looking for a cozy meal with family or a chance to mingle with neighbors, this gathering is the perfect opportunity to do both!
As Thanksgiving approaches, events like this one remind us of the joy in giving and sharing with those around us. So come on down to the Bethlehem #1 Missionary Baptist Church this November 27 and be part of something truly special. Let’s make this Thanksgiving one to remember!
