A Baton Rouge, Louisiana teen has confessed making bomb threats against a South Carolina high school last month, as per police documents unveiled on Wednesday.
A resident of Baton Rouge, 19-year-old Trenton Alexander Brown stands accused of creating willful discord by making multiple threatening phone calls on the 23rd and 24th of April to both Carolina Forest High School, Myrtle Beach, S.C., and the Myrtle Beach Police Department. The threats mentioned potential “damage, injury, or death to students”, instigating chaos in the Horry County region and leading to the precautionary evacuation of the school.
Brown has been extradited to Horry County and currently faces charges of making bomb threats or providing false information about a bomb threat. He was incarcerated at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Sunday night.
According to the police, the threatening phone calls were traced back to Brown’s residential location. Officers from the Baton Rouge Police Department, acting on this finding, visited Brown’s residence where he reportedly confessed to making the threatening phone calls during their interview. Further substantiating evidence was found in his house, state authorities.
Reportedly, the Carolina Forest High School received a total of six bomb threats within days of each other. However, Brown is currently charged only with making the first reported threat on April 24. The police continue to investigate the subsequent threats made to the school.
