State Agents Assist in Search for Missing, Endangered Man in Beaufort County

Authorities from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) have joined hands with deputies from Beaufort County in an ever-expanding search for an elderly man who has gone missing. The person of concern, 81-year-old Martin Raffone, suffers from dementia.

The Disappearance

The man in question, Martin Raffone, has been reported missing since February 20, according to a SLED spokesperson. The last confirmed sighting of Raffone took place near Hardeeville, where he was found at the wheel of his white 2015 Hyundai Genesis. The car is registered in South Carolina and sports the license plate number KDP973.

Physical Description and Clothing

Raffone is described as a man standing at 5 feet, 7 inches tall and comes at a weight of 164 pounds. He possesses gray hair and blue eyes. When last seen, he was dressed in a green sweatshirt and blue jeans. Due to his medical condition and advanced age, authorities have expressed serious concerns over his safety and well-being.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office has now put out a call for anyone who may have information on Raffone’s current whereabouts. Those able to provide any form of insight or assistance are encouraged to immediately contact the Sheriff’s office at 843-524-2777.
