Special Forces Parachute Team Impresses at CCMF with Spectacular Aerial Stunts

Myrtle Beach, S.C.

A Flashy Start to the Final Day of CCMF

On the tranquil Sunday of June 10th, 2024 hundreds of excited faces turned up to watch a spectacle unfold as the Special Forces Parachute Team landed on the beach to start the fourth and final day of the yearly Carolina Country Music Festival (CCMF). Accompanied by the melodious signing of the national anthem and an awe-inspiring flyover by two military jets, this grand event marked the memorable kickoff of the day’s festivities.

The Aerial Showstopper

With the reputation of being one of the most skilled parachute teams in the world, the Special Forces Parachute Team swooped in from the sky behind the main stage. Their command of the air left everyone at the beach mesmerized, as they touched down flawlessly in a show-stopping display and celebration of military expertise and audacity.

The Personal Experience

Renowned paratrooper Greg Hales, who after serving as a parachute rigger in the Marines, has become part of this esteemed Special Forces Parachute Team. Upon landing, despite a slight hitch – a pants burn thanks to his smoke gear – Hales was nothing short of exhilarated with the successful completion of the stunt. Speaking to HERE News Network, he commented on the immense feeling of satisfaction upon landing on the beach amidst the cheers and applause.

It was breathtaking. Had a little line switch coming down cause we had a sub-terminal opening, meaning opening slow. So once I got that figured out, then I burned my pants firing my smoke, but it turned out to be ok. We all landed safe on the beach on time,

– Greg Hales, Demonstrator for Special Forces Parachute Team.

Looking Ahead

This was Hales’ third time parachuting onto Myrtle Beach for CCMF, and he plans to be back again for next year’s festival. The enthusiasm and patriotism stirred in the crowds, according to Hales, makes this event one of the highlights of the year for him. The beach landing and flyover are their way of honoring their dedication to the country and to remind everyone the sacrifices they make for their nation.

Closing Curtain Call

With the sun dipping beneath the horizon, Grammy award-winning artist, Carrie Underwood, closed out this year’s festival, wrapping up the day on a high note. As the crowd dispersed and the lights dimmed, one couldn’t help but feel an exhilarating sense of anticipation for the next year’s CCMF and a hope to witness once more, the breathtaking spectacle of the Special Forces Parachute Team.
