Welcome to Myakka City, folks! This hidden gem in Florida just got a whole lot more exciting with the grand unveiling of the brand-new Soleta Golf Club. Last year, golf legend Nick Price—yes, the World Golf Hall of Famer and former No. 1 player—was right there on a bulldozer kicking off this ambitious project. And now, it’s here! “As you get deeper into the project, it evolves a little differently,” Price said. “But it’s basically what we’ve wanted. I think we did better than what I expected.”
First off, let’s talk exclusivity. Soleta is a private club, attracting both locals and golf enthusiasts traveling from afar. Local membership starts at a hefty $100,000 initiation fee, while those who call more distant places home will have to shell out $50,000. You gotta admit, it’s a serious investment!
Spread over a stunning landscape, Soleta is the first golf course in Myakka City and it’s designed to cater to golfers of all skill levels—from high handicappers to the low handicappers and even the tour players. What’s super cool is how Nick Price took full advantage of the natural terrain, incorporating wetlands and native white sugar sand areas. This gives the course a unique links-style feel that’s sure to impress!
Have you ever felt like the golf course was too predictable? Say goodbye to boring rounds! Soleta offers golfers incredible versatility, with three or four ways to chip and multiple approaches to the greens. And get this—there are 120 yards on free-form tees, allowing the tee to be shifted back or forth by 20 yards. That means today’s hole could feel totally different from yesterday’s! Talk about keeping your game fresh!
This swanky club won’t let just anyone stroll in for a game. Soleta has capped its membership at 375, with 275 spots reserved for locals and 100 for national members. This intentional limit ensures you won’t find yourself staring at a five-hour wait just to hit the links. “We want our members to enjoy their rounds without feeling rushed,” explained Alan Pope, the membership and sales director.
As of now, Soleta has already attracted 170 members and even caught the eye of pros, including Bradenton star Nelly Korda, who is already a member. When asked what she loved about the course, she said, “The fairways are not flat here.” That’s a hint of the excitement that awaits!
The course itself is a 7,400-yard par-72 link, and we can look forward to a state-of-the-art practice facility set to wrap up by the end of 2025. That’s right; renowned golf instructor David Leadbetter is heading up the performance center, complete with high-tech goodies like Toptracer and Trackman technology. Fancy that robotic system you see on TV showing the player’s ball flight? Yep, it’s all here at Soleta!
With plans for hitting bays, a locker room boasting hot and cold tubs, saunas, and even a restaurant underway, you can see there’s plenty to get excited about. But wait, there’s more! Plans to add a pool, tennis, and pickleball amenities are also in the works, making Soleta not just a golf club but an all-around lifestyle destination.
The golf course is part of a bigger vision, too, as it gets intertwined with plans for 93 luxury homes from top builders. With home lots starting at a jaw-dropping $3 million and a 3,600 square-foot minimum, it looks like the luxury lifestyle is set to take off in Myakka City.
There you have it! Myakka City is ready to welcome you to the beautifully designed Soleta Golf Club, where golf is not just a game—it’s an experience! Get your clubs ready because this is one place you don’t want to miss!
