Reedy River Retail Facilitates Land Acquisition in Upstate South Carolina for Publix-Anchored Retail Center

MAULDIN, S.C., April 5, 2024 — Local real estate agency Reedy River Retail has successfully brokered the acquisition of nearly 11 acres of land situated at 1116 Ashmore Bridge Road in Mauldin, which is roughly 10 miles south of Greenville, S.C. The buyer, an Atlanta-based company called Venture South Investments, has plans to develop a retail center anchored by Publix on this site.

About the Transaction

In the $4.6 million transaction, Reedy River Retail’s real estate experts Dustin Tenney and Daniel Holloway represented Venture South Investments. This strategic acquisition underscores the continuously mounting interests of various businesses to invest in regions with a thriving retail market.

About the Upcoming Development

Venture South Investments’ plans for the site include the construction of a sizeable 63,000-square-foot retail center. The center’s key attraction will be a 45,000-square-foot Publix grocery store. Additionally, the plans also encompass the establishment of two outparcels that will complement the primary grocery store. As of now, the timeline for the construction phase remains undisclosed.

Implications of the Planned Retail Center

The upcoming Publix-anchored shopping center holds significance for the Mauldin community and its surrounding areas. Located only about 10 miles from Greenville, the shopping center will increase the number of retail options and create job opportunities for the local populace. Furthermore, the two outparcels within the retail center will invite greater diversity in terms of both commercial establishments and services offered, thus contributing to the overall economic abundance and vibrancy of the area.
