Sustainable yard sale concept
CONWAY, S.C. — Bargain shoppers get ready – this weekend is Coastal Carolina University’s annual yard sale. Campus Salvage is a collaborative effort between Sustain Coastal, University Housing, and Public Safety. They work together to keep unwanted items from landing in the landfill.
As college students move out of campus housing, they donate unwanted items. Volunteers sort the donated items to sell at the massive Campus Salvage Sale. In the past there have been microwaves, mini-fridges, TVs, furniture, and more. Unsold items are donated to local charities.
Organizers hope the sale inspires others to recycle, reuse, and keep items out of landfills. The Campus Salvage Sale is Saturday, May 11 from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. at Coastal Carolina University’s YY Parking Lot on Highway 544 in Conway. It’s located at 1133 Highway 544 in Conway.
The sale is cash-only, and there’s a $5 entrance fee.
