Man Accused of Assaulting His Pregnant Girlfriend at Myrtle Beach Hotel

Myrtle Beach, SC – A 25-year-old man is custodial after being accused of assaulting his pregnant girlfriend at a local hotel. Identified as Leleng Antoine Tehalime, the man allegedly committed the assault last month and now faces multiple charges.

Reported Incident at Carolinian Beach Resort

On May 26, local law enforcement was dispatched to the Carolinian Beach Resort on North Ocean Boulevard addressing a probable weapons violation. Tehalime’s pregnant girlfriend disclosed to officers that he hadn’t allowed her to exit the room, subsequently pushing her to the ground and initiating physical attack, causing visible injury.

Following her deeply concerning account, the victim also stated that when two individuals arrived at the scene to provide aid, they too were shoved to the ground by Tehalime.

Immediate Action and Arrest

Following the initial report, law enforcement managed to apprehend Tehalime in a stairwell located inside the hotel. According to the officers, he had attempted to flee the location of his purported crimes.

Charges and Bond

Presently, Tehalime is held under detention at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Several legal implications have been made against him including two counts of third-degree assault and battery, coupled with charges of kidnapping and domestic violence of high and aggravated nature. The judge overseeing the case has set his bond exceeding $50,000.

Discrepancies in Name Spelling

It is worthy of note that there appears to be some differences in the spelling of the detainee’s name in various documents. In official police records, public documents and initial jail bookings, the suspect’s name is spelled as ‘Tehalime’. However, the name has been spelled as ‘Tchalime’ in the booking details at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

To maintain consistency in our reportage and in compliance with the majority usage in documents, we have followed the spelling ‘Tehalime’.
