News Summary

The Pickled Cucumber, a cherished dining spot known for its comfort food, has reopened in Surfside Beach at a new location. After closing in June 2024, owners Nadya and Eddie Batson brought back their beloved restaurant in March 2025 with an expanded menu featuring classic dishes and exciting new customizable bowls. The restaurant also offers to-go orders and catering services. Locals and visitors alike can now enjoy home-cooked goodness close to the ocean.

Surfside Beach Welcomes Back The Pickled Cucumber

Surfside Beach is buzzing with excitement as the beloved dining spot, The Pickled Cucumber, has officially reopened after a temporary hiatus. The cozy eatery, known for its home-cooked comfort food, has made its grand return to a new location at 818 Surfside Drive, just a hop, skip, and jump away from the beautiful ocean.

The Journey Back

After closing its doors in Conway back in June 2024, many were left wondering about the beloved restaurant’s fate. The original plan was for the owners, Nadya and Eddie Batson, to hang up their aprons and retire, focusing on family time. However, the call of the kitchen was too strong for Nadya, who realized how much she missed the hustle and bustle of the restaurant scene.

New Horizons, Familiar Favorites

The reopening in early March 2025 marks a new chapter for The Pickled Cucumber, as it welcomes back loyal customers and new faces alike. The restaurant’s hours are set from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, though these might shift as they get settled. With an expanded menu, there’s plenty for everyone to dig into.

Returning patrons will find classic favorites such as country fried chicken, pulled pork, and a remarkable selection of 15-20 homemade sides. If you’re new to the restaurant, don’t miss the recommendation to try the fried chicken, mac and cheese, and the ever-popular broccoli salad, all known for their delicious flavors and generous portions.

Exciting New Additions

While the classics are sure to satisfy your cravings, The Pickled Cucumber has spiced things up with a couple of exciting new menu items. Guests can now enjoy customizable bowls featuring two unique concepts to cater to all tastes.

  • A hearty bowl packed with mac and cheese, country fried chicken, lima beans, buffalo sauce, and crispy bacon is perfect for those looking to indulge.
  • If you’re in the mood for something lighter, the lighter option boasts rice, grilled meat, peas, and chimichurri sauce, offering a refreshing take on a meal.

Offering More Than Just Dine-in

In addition to its revamped menu, The Pickled Cucumber is also introducing new services for its customers. The restaurant now provides to-go orders, along with their existing catering services, making it easier than ever to enjoy their delicious food at home or at gatherings.

A Rich History

The Pickled Cucumber has a storied past, having initially opened in Surfside Beach before relocating to Conway in 2018 after a fire devastated its first location. The restaurant has attracted countless diners from Conway and Aynor, along with loyal customers from its previous Surfside Beach site. After their closure, the space in Conway was taken over by Anto’s Pizza Romana & Italian Market in October 2024.

Join the Culinary Adventure

Now that The Pickled Cucumber is back in action, it is ready to reclaim its spot in the hearts (and stomachs) of locals and visitors alike. Whether you’re craving some classic comfort food or eager to try one of the new customizable bowls, this charming restaurant is poised to make its mark once more in the Surfside Beach community.

Don’t miss out—be among the first to visit The Pickled Cucumber at its new location and experience a taste of home-cooked goodness that will keep you coming back for more!
