Hey Myrtle Beach! Gather around because there’s a buzz in the air that you don’t want to miss. A potential Pedal Pub franchise could be rolling into our beautiful coastal city, and it’s got a lot of folks talking. This isn’t just a regular item on the city council agenda; it was discussed over coffee at Tuesday’s workshop, sparking questions and excitement among our city leaders.
So, what exactly is a Pedal Pub? Imagine this: a big, shiny bike that’s more like a party on wheels! These θα πιο·party bikes are made of strong steel and aluminum frames, and they hold up to 16 people (including a super fun tour pilot). You and your friends can pedal around town while enjoying a cool drink, with the bike providing some electric assistance to give you a boost when those pedals start to feel a bit heavy.
The idea is to offer two different tours downtown: one is a pub crawl that kicks off and winds down at Grand Strand Brewing, and the other is a chilled-out sightseeing tour around our local gems. According to Assistant City Manager Josh Bruegger, the operation hours are projected to run from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. You can join the fun for just $39 per person, which means you might even end up mingling with some new friends. Prefer a more private vibe? Rent out the whole bike for a special outing!
Now, let’s talk safety. Those Pedal Pub bikes will come equipped with all the right gear: brakes, lights, and other safety equipment to keep everyone secure while having a blast. It sounds like a fantastic way to explore our great city while making memories, right?
The Mayor, Brenda Bethune, however, seems excited about the opportunity! She believes adding a fresh experience to the city could be a game-changer but stressed the need to further explore the franchise agreement and ensure it works for everyone involved.
