Mica Miller’s Pastor Husband and Family Reach Settlement

John-Paul “J.P.” Miller, Myrtle Beach pastor, and the family of his late wife, Mica Miller, have announced that they have reached a settlement which will conclude all litigation between the two parties. The terms of the settlement were not fully disclosed but it was revealed that the settlement will resolve ongoing disputes concerning the late Mica Miller’s estate, her husband J.P. Miller, and his local church, Solid Rock Church at Market Common.

Details of The Agreement

The agreement was announced in a joint press conference conducted by the legal representatives of both parties on July 29. Following a probate court hearing, Mica Miller’s sister, Sierra Francis, agreed to withdraw her request to be the personal representative of Mica’s estate, paving the way for J.P. Miller to assume the role upon approval by a judge. As a part of the settlement, a proposed wrongful death lawsuit against J.P. Miller, that the family had been contemplating, will not be pursued.

J.P. Miller and Solid Rock Church

The announcement of this settlement marks the end of a tumultuous period marred by allegations of abuse and threats of lawsuits involving J.P. Miller, his church, and Mica Miller’s family. The pastor, who led the Solid Rock Church at Market Common, was quickly absolved of direct involvement in Mica’s death, with authorities confirming he was in Charleston at time of Mica’s death. Pastor J.P. had also strongly refuted allegations of abuse levelled against him by Mica’s family and insisted he is a grieving husband trying to cope with the loss of his wife.

The matter under dispute came under public scrutiny after Mica’s death, with local residents picketing Solid Rock Church services demanding “Justice for Mica”. In light of the settlement, Russell Long, attorney for J.P. Miller, urged the protesters to stop picketing and allow the congregation to return to their religious activities unmolested. He further stated that everyone involved in the settlement believes that justice has been done for Mica.

Moving Forward

Regina Ward, attorney for Mica’s family, reiterated that the focus should now shift from the settlement to honoring Mica’s memory and legacy. She further urged that the supporters channel their energies towards advocating for better laws to protect victims of domestic violence. In conclusion, both parties agreed that it was best for everyone involved to move beyond this period of litigation and allow healing to commence.
