To make the cut, you’ve got to be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old by Election Day, and a resident of South Carolina. If you’re registering online, don’t forget your South Carolina-issued driver’s license and social security number. If you’re going the snail mail route, include a valid photo ID or something like a utility bill that shows your name and address. Simple enough, right?

Basically, it’s asking if we want to approve a special sales and use tax to be imposed for 25 years or until $6.35 billion has been collected to fund transportation projects. You’ll get the chance to say yes or no, and if it passes, the tax kicks in next May.

Moreover, there’s also a statewide constitutional amendment question about voter qualifications. It aims to clear up any confusion regarding who gets to vote but won’t change the current eligibility requirements. To put it simply, if you’re a U.S. citizen, a South Carolina resident, and at least 18, you’re good to go!
