North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue Grieves the Loss of Division Chief Charles Full

Tragic Loss for North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue

North Myrtle Beach, S.C. is plunged into mourning following the death of Division Chief Charles Full of the North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue. Full passed away on Thursday after a sudden medical emergency, plunging not just the department but the entire community into grief.

Career Dedicated to Service

Full began his journey with the North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue back in February 2007 as a firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). His dedication, courage, and proficiency in his role allowed him to rise through the ranks. In November 2008, Full was promoted to Fire Lieutenant, a position he held until his recent appointment as Division Chief of Fire Training in July 2021. His untimely demise marks the end of a decorated career dedicated to the protection and safety of his community.

Prior to joining this department, Full made a significant contribution as a Deputy District Fire Warden for the New Jersey Forest Fire Service. His passion and commitment to the fire service have been ever evident, both in his native New Jersey and his adopted home of North Myrtle Beach.

Outpouring of Support and Grief

From across the state and the country, tributes are pouring in, reflecting the impact Full had on the fire service community. In a touching tribute, the North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue announced on their social media, “We didn’t just lose a member of our Department today, we lost a friend and Brother to us all.” The department has requested continued prayers for the Full family and their own Fire Family during this distressing period.

Countless other agencies, including fire rescue services and law enforcement agencies, have expressed their condolences and support in this trying time. Funeral arrangements for Charles Full are still pending and will be announced once finalized.

Survived by his Loving Family

Charles Full leaves behind a lasting legacy, not just in the form of his extensive career but also his family. He is survived by his wife and two children. While the grief of losing him is immeasurable, the strength and love of the Full family are a testament to his life’s work and resolve. They continue to receive overwhelming support from the North Myrtle Beach community.

His life and career are a testament to his dedication to duty and love for the profession, as he leaves his legacy embedded in the heart of the community and the fire service. The loss of Division Chief Charles Full creates a void in the North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue, as they bid farewell to not just a colleague but a brother.
