Hey there, sports fans of North Myrtle Beach! January has been quite the roller coaster ride for our beloved Varsity Boys Basketball team as they’ve been hitting the court hard and tallied some thrilling games. Let’s take a deeper dive into how they’ve fared so far this month!

Starting Off Strong

Our Chiefs kicked off the year on a high note right before the New Year celebrations wrapped up! On December 29, 2024, they clinched a victory against Belton-Honea Path High School with a solid score of 54-43. Fans were buzzing as the team showcased some great teamwork, leading to this promising start.

Just a couple of days later, on January 2, 2025, they faced off against Wilson Hall High School in the Waccamaw HTC Invitational. It was a nail-biter, but unfortunately, our Chiefs fell short, losing 47-45. But hey, that’s the beauty of sports: it’s all about the ups and downs!

Rallying Back

The team quickly turned things around on January 3, 2025, with a commendable win over Cathedral Academy High School. With a final score reading 48-40, players knew this was just the momentum they needed! In the very next game on January 4, they faced the Ragin Prep Christian Academy High School and notched another victory with an impressive 51-33 score. CJ Oxendine truly shone this game, putting up 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Bravo!

Reo Stevenson also had a fantastic game, scoring 11 points and achieving a career-high with four steals! What a way to grab the highlights and show those fans what you’ve got. It’s clear these boys are working well together and itching to make big plays.

Conway High School on January 7, 2025. Although the score was close, the Chiefs ended up on the losing side, 54-45. The team certainly put up a fight, but this will surely fuel their fire for the next games ahead!
