North Myrtle Beach Elementary School Initiates Back to School Backpack Drive
Ocean Drive Elementary School in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, kicked off its annual Back to School Backpack Drive on Wednesday. The drive, which runs until August 14, aims to collect clear backpacks and school supplies for the upcoming school year.
Emphasizing Safety and Transparency
The drive is about facilitating students’ education and enhancing safety and transparency. Clear backpacks are becoming the norm in numerous school districts across Texas following several school shootings. This measure helps to reduce potential safety hazards at schools and provide peace of mind for parents, staff, and students.
Drop-off Points
Those willing to contribute can drop off clear backpacks and school supplies at various locations around North Myrtle Beach. Designated drop-off points are the North Myrtle Beach Police Department, the North Myrtle Beach Aquatic & Fitness Center, and the J. Bryan Floyd Community Center.
Easing into New Changes
The drive’s primary goal is to smoothen students’ adaptation to using clear backpacks. The policies on clear backpacks and the list of necessary school supplies for kindergarten through fifth grade have been made available for potential contributors.
Continuous Support Beyond the Drive
The community is encouraged to continue showing their support at the forthcoming back-to-school bash in Little River. This event primarily supports foster and adoptive families in the area.
This initiative represents a strong dedication to providing an optimal and safe learning environment. It urges active participation from parents, the local community, and businesses to ensure a secure and successful upcoming academic year.
