Big Changes Coming to Conway: A New Housing Boom!

If you live in Conway or the surrounding areas, you’re in for some exciting news! A brand new development is set to enhance our beautiful little city, adding more than 1,000 homes to the mix. Yes, you read that right! Developers have just announced plans for a project called Auberon Woods, taking shape on a whopping 758-acre tract of land, designed to change the housing landscape in our area.

All About Auberon Woods

Auberon Woods is no small feat – it will include around 1,100 houses and not just any houses, but homes that fit a variety of lifestyles. The community is being developed by First Continental, a company that specializes in home development financing, and they have it all planned out to be completed by 2027. Exciting developments are already underway, with 206 homes getting ready for you in 2023!

But wait, there’s more! If you’ve got a flair for picking your perfect space, you’ll want to check out the range of options offered by D.R. Horton. They’ve got some fantastic floor plans available, from a comfortable 1,618 square feet, with three bedrooms, and two baths, to a more spacious 2,271 square feet two-story option featuring four bedrooms and two and a half baths. Prices are set to start at around $304,000, depending on the layout you choose.

A Larger Wave of Development

Auberon Woods isn’t the only exciting project making waves in our area. In January 2024, the City of Conway gave the green light to another colossal development called Warden Station. Hold on to your hats – this project is slated to add over 3,300 homes, including single-family detached units, townhomes, and multi-family residences near Pitch Landing Road and Harper Road, just off Highway 701 South!

But that’s not all! Smaller projects are popping up too. DRB Homes is planning to construct over 70 homes in the Longs area as part of the Chesnut Farms community specifically for adults aged 55 and older. Additionally, developers are looking to build around 100 single-family homes along Poplar Church Road – talk about a growth spurt!

Why the Rush?

So, why are we seeing all this development? Well, according to recent stats, Conway is the seventh fastest-growing city in South Carolina. The Myrtle Beach-Conway-North Myrtle Beach metro area experienced some of the most significant population growth in 2023 compared to other areas in our beautiful state. People are loving it here, and it’s easy to see why!

What’s Next for Conway?

With all this growth on the horizon, it’s a fantastic time to be a resident of Conway. New homes mean more opportunities for families, young professionals, and retirees to settle into this lovely part of the world. Whether you’re looking to buy a new place or simply curious about what’s cooking in the neighborhood, it’s shaping up to be quite a vibrant community!

So, keep your eyes peeled for construction sounds and new faces in Conway. The future looks bright, and with all this development underway, it’s only going to get better!
