Hey there, Myrtle Beach! If you’re anything like us, you’re always on the lookout for the latest happenings in town. Well, grab a seat and get comfortable because we’ve got some big news coming your way that’s sure to spice things up around here!
First up, we’ve got some fantastic news for fitness fanatics and beginners alike! Crunch Fitness is set to open its first location in the Myrtle Beach area, right at the Coastal Grand Mall. This isn’t just any fitness club; Crunch is all about a “no judgments” philosophy. Whether you’re lifting heavy weights or just starting out, they welcome everyone with open arms!
Once the doors swing open at the end of the year, you can expect a wide range of cardio and weightlifting equipment, plus fun group fitness classes led by trainers. And don’t miss The Hiitzone, where you can jump into 45-minute high-intensity workouts that will get your heart racing! Excited yet? Well, to sweeten the deal, they’re offering the first 500 members a sweet deal—only $1 down with your first month completely free! You’ll also snag some free Crunch Fitness gear.
Now, while we’re welcoming new faces, we also have to bid adieu to some favorites. The Funplex amusement park has announced it will close after three years of bringing entertainment to Myrtle Beach. Their website sent a heartfelt message, expressing pride in the community they built and the smiles shared over the years. It’s definitely a bittersweet moment for those who enjoyed countless fun days at the park.
Speaking of farewells, Waccamaw Outfitters in Conway has also decided to close its doors. Known for outdoor apparel and kayak rentals, owner Matt Varnadore has chosen to shift his focus to a full-time yacht broker career. He shared his gratitude for the support he received from customers, many of whom felt like family. He even invited everyone to check out the merchandise and the pontoon tour boat as they wrap up operations.
The city of Conway, which owns the marina store, is actively seeking proposals to fill the space. Interested parties can submit their ideas until 2 p.m. on Nov. 22, with plans to present options to the city council soon after!
On a tastier note, get ready to indulge! Cape Fear Seafood Company has opened its doors off U.S. Highway 17 in North Myrtle Beach. As their first location in South Carolina, they are ready to treat you to Southern hospitality and seafood dishes that’ll leave your taste buds dancing! From lemon pepper sea scallops to creamy lobster and shrimp risotto, their menu is brimming with mouth-watering options. Seafood platters are bound to be a hit, so make sure to stop by!
And let’s not forget about the fun that’s still happening in the area! A brand new mini-golf course called Mulligan’s Lagoon has opened in Surfside Beach. Yes, you guessed it! With 36 holes of beach and surfer-themed fun, everyone ages 4 and up can join in for $14 for the first round or $21 for both! Plus, kids 3 and under can play for free! There’s also an arcade with almost 50 games to enjoy, so it sounds like a perfect day out!
Last but definitely not least, pet owners will be happy to hear that a new Pet Supplies Plus is opening up in Conway. Offering grooming services, a self-serve pet wash, and plenty of food and toys, it’s a one-stop-shop for all your furry friends’ needs. During their grand opening on Nov. 23 and 24, they will hold special discounts, including 50% off dog nail trimming! How cool is that?
So there you have it, Myrtle Beach! A blend of fresh new spots and some heartfelt goodbyes keep our beloved community ever-changing. Stay tuned for more updates!
