The bereaved family of a man, Quintin Johnson, who was slaughtered in an unfortunate shooting incident at a restaurant in North Myrtle Beach, expressed their displeasure by issuing a statement following a postponement in the criminal trial proceeding over the deadly incident. Johnson, 26, sadly passed away a few days after the tragic shooting that occurred at Nacho Hippo in July 2022.
In a statement released by the victim’s brother on behalf of the family, he accused the defense attorneys of employing a delaying tactic to buy the accused, LaFredia Todd, more time and avoid what they termed as the “inevitable consequences of her callousness.” Furthermore, he alleged that Todd, who was freed on bond months after the shooting and is presently under GPS monitoring, poses a higher threat to public safety than she did at the time of the heartbreaking incident.
The murder trial, which was set to commence on Monday, was delayed upon the request of the defense attorneys. To the dismay of Johnson’s family, the setback has resulted in an undefined trial date, stirring up rooted emotions. The family, which hailed from various locations, was flown in, all prepared to witness the commencement of the trial proceedings.
In an exasperated tone, Johnson’s family vowed to persist in their pursuit for justice for Quintin and ensure that Todd faces the maximum legal penalty. They seek not only to bring Todd to account but also hope that this case will serve as a strong deterrent against harsh crimes like murder in modern society.
Following the family’s statement and allegations, attempts were made to contact Todd’s defense attorneys for comments. Alas, no statement was received from them. The family’s full statement has been made available for public review.
The mystery now hovers around when the trial will be resurrected and justice served. Pledges have been made by the family to fight unyieldingly for justice, expressing their discontentment at the delay and desiring to see the end of the roller coaster of events. With the public keenly watching the developments, the family awaits the day justice will be served for their lost loved one.
