Sponsor Our ArticlesIn the charming town of Florence, South Carolina, high school sweethearts Kinsley Odom and Chase Poston took a monumental step in their love story this past October 28, 2023. They tied the knot at the stunning Dunes Golf and Beach Club located in Myrtle Beach, and let’s just say, it was a day to remember!
Even though Kinsley and Chase only met in their junior year of high school, it was as if they were destined to be together. “I was going through a really tough time,” Kinsley reminisced, “and his patience, kindness, and thoughtfulness helped piece me back together in such a way that I knew, just one month into dating, we were going to get married someday!”
Fast forward to their gorgeous wedding day, where the couple’s love and commitment oozed from every detail. Dressed in an all-white color palette, their big day truly reflected their unique love story. It’s no wonder Kinsley said, “We toured several wedding venues, but when we walked into the Dunes Club it absolutely took our breath away!”
With Kinsley’s background in golf and Chase recently discovering his own love for the game, choosing a golf course as their venue made total sense. “Chase proposed to me on a golf course in our hometown, so it just felt right!” Kinsley explained.
The couple strived to make every detail “scream Kinsley and Chase.” Their floral arrangements were a heavenly mix of all-white roses, baby’s breath, and lush greenery. They even included a heartfelt tribute to Kinsley’s brother, who has Down Syndrome, by honoring Down Syndrome Awareness Month with their choice of wedding socks. Chase, the groomsmen, and both fathers donned socks that featured the Down Syndrome symbol, and Kinsley’s “something blue” paid homage to her brother as well.
Holding meaningful traditions close to heart, Kinsley dedicated her bouquet to her mom instead of tossing it into the crowd. Their ceremony was officiated by the same pastor who married Chase’s parents, deepening the familial ties in the celebration.
When it came to her wedding dress, Kinsley had her heart set on a custom creation from Gregory Ellenburg. “I also knew that I wanted to incorporate my mom’s dress in some way,” she said. With features reminiscent of her favorite pageant dresses and a nod to tradition through her mother’s veil, Kinsley created a look that was both stunning and meaningful.
Guests were treated to mouthwatering dishes during the reception, starting with fun appetizers like pigs-in-a-blanket and a veggie cup paired with Ranch dressing. For main entrees, they could choose from chicken fettuccine alfredo, lasagna, or parmesan chicken. And let’s not forget the dessert spread that included a delectable chocolate melting cake and the wedding cake!
As if that wasn’t enough, a late-night snack of pretzels with different dipping sauces made sure no one left hungry. The reception also showcased a variety of unique touches, including a live painter, a custom ice sculpture, and a video wall displaying the couple’s engagement video. Each guest took home travertine tile place cards crafted by Kinsley’s maid of honor—what a personal touch!
In a heartfelt conclusion, Kinsley offered her best advice for brides-to-be planning their own weddings, saying, “My biggest piece of advice is to hire a full-service wedding planner!” They chose Ash Events, who exceeded their expectations. “They made our day go so smoothly and kept everything on track,” she added.
Now, Kinsley, who is an assistant manager at her family’s Pee Dee Auto Sales, and Chase, who works as an estimator at Classic Collision, happily reside in their beautiful home in Florence. Isn’t it wonderful to see high school sweethearts create such a beautiful life together? Here’s to a happily-ever-after for the Postons!
