Gloomy Sunday Forecast for Myrtle Beach with Warm Temperatures Ahead

Sunday Weather Buzz in Myrtle Beach

Good Sunday morning, Myrtle Beach! As we kick off the day, we’re greeted by some leftover showers from last night that are slowly sailing out to sea. Anyone who loves the beach knows the weather can play a big role in making our weekends fun, so let’s see what’s in store for today and the coming week.

What’s Happening Today?

We’re starting the day off a bit gloomy with cloud cover sticking around, and there’s a chance we might see some light drizzle or a few showers early on. This moisture comes courtesy of a cool, dry air mass moving in from the northeast, creating a bit of a wedge effect over our area. While that may sound fancy, the reality is it will feel a little dreary today.

If you’re in the Pee Dee area, you might notice temperatures struggling to break much above the low 60s. But don’t fret—if you’re closer to the coast, you’ll be enjoying some milder temps with highs creeping up to about 70 degrees! It’s perfect for a cozy afternoon inside or grabbing a light jacket if you’re strolling by the beach.

What About Tonight and Tomorrow?

As we roll into Sunday evening, those clouds will continue to hang around, and we’ll slide into the low to mid 50s overnight. Monday morning isn’t looking too bright either, with lingering clouds as we start the new week.

But hey, starting off the week, we may only see temperatures in the low 70s. Not to worry, though! As we move toward the end of the week, it looks like things are heating up again, with highs approaching 80 degrees. So, hang tight; summer isn’t quite done with us yet!

Rain Risks and Drought Conditions

Unfortunately, once we slide past today, our friends the rain clouds will be taking a break, pushing our rain chances to a big fat zero for the week. While dry skies might be great for outdoor plans, it’s a little worrying as drought conditions may get worse. Plus, it’s worth mentioning that as fall rolls in, the fire risk is kicking up a notch too. With leaves falling and dry grounds, we’ll want to be extra careful to avoid any fire hazards.

Tropical Update

As for any tropical excitement, the waters are staying calm for now. The National Hurricane Center has pointed out an area of interest in the Southwest Caribbean Sea, but there’s little to fret about with only a 30% chance of development by later in the week. So, for now, let’s keep our toes in the sand and enjoy our beautiful coast!

Thanksgiving Prep Alert!

Now, on a much tastier note! If you’re already thinking about the upcoming holidays, did you hear that Costco is offering a Thanksgiving dinner kit? If you’re looking to ditch the stress of cooking up the big feast this year, this might be the perfect solution for you. Whether you’re a seasoned chef or a cooking newbie, it could save you a lot of time!

And speaking of cooking, if you want to hop on the latest food trend, why not try ‘butter boards’? These are beautiful, customizable boards of butter that are not only easy to make but are also a feast for the eyes—that’s right, they’re Instagram-worthy!

So there you have it, Myrtle Beach! Time to grab your favorite sweater, enjoy a cozy day, and maybe start thinking about those Thanksgiving plans. Stay safe out there, and let’s hope for brighter days ahead!
