Myrtle Beach Bids Farewell to TGI Fridays as Financial Woes Force Closure

Myrtle Beach Bid Farewell to TGI Fridays Locations

Residents of Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach, it’s time to grab some tissues! It seems like we’ve officially hit a milestone in our dining scene, as both TGI Fridays locations in our beloved area have closed their doors for good. Nestled at 500 Highway 17 North and 7515 North Kings Highway, these spots have now been marked as permanently closed on Google. Just like that, our go-to place for all things crunchy, cheesy, and saucy has vanished!

What Happened?

It appears that financial woes have taken a toll on the TGI Fridays brand. A recent report from Bloomberg indicated that the restaurant chain is teetering on the edge of bankruptcy. With the ever-evolving landscape of the restaurant industry, TGI Fridays has not only closed our local spots but has also cut ties with numerous locations across the country, including places in Colorado. It’s a tough time out there in the franchising world!

Efforts to Connect

Curiosity piqued, a call was made to both Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach locations in hopes of some clarity about the situation. However, it seems that the phone lines were left silent; no one answered our calls. Further desperation led to attempts at visiting the TGI Fridays website, only to be greeted by an error message. Looks like they don’t even have a ‘come back soon’ message for us.

Memories Made

For many, TGI Fridays was more than just a chain restaurant; it was a place filled with laughter, bites of crispy fried food, and cherished memories. Remember when you celebrated your birthday with a massive plate of loaded nachos and a towering stack of ribs? Or maybe when you enjoyed happy hour with your friends while sipping on their famous Strawberry Daiquiris? The ambience, the lively music, and that famous “Welcome to TGI Fridays!” greeting will surely be missed by many patrons.

So What’s Next?

As we bid adieu to these beloved establishments, one can’t help but wonder what will fill the culinary void they leave behind. Will new restaurants pop up in their place, or will we have to rely on our local favorites to carry us through? Social media has already been buzzing with locals weighing in on where to get their fix of comfort food now. Rest assured, Myrtle Beach is a thriving community that loves food, and we’re sure some incredible new restaurants will rise to the occasion soon.
