The incident took place along Pipers Pointe Lane, close to U.S. 501, a major transport artery. The suspects, identified as Dacoda Cook, 18, Brent Calvin, 38, and Bo Taylor, 41, allegedly committed the crime before swiftly departing from the scene. They were later apprehended on April 26 by the quick-thinking and well-trained officers of the Myrtle Beach Police Department. The three individuals were charged with armed robbery and are currently being held in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Their bail has been set at $200,000 for the robbery charge.
The ordeal started when the victim found himself confronted by Taylor, who began to demonstrate aggressive behavior. Taylor then brandished a firearm and pointed it directly at the terrified victim. According to the document obtained from the local law enforcement, during this distressing event, Cook and Calvin proceeded to confiscate the victim’s goods. After the act, the trio escaped the scene and were reportedly seen walking along the nearby train tracks, heading towards Canal Street.
Alongside the armed robbery, Taylor faces more serious charges. He has been accused of the possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime among other offenses. His total bail, due to the additional charges, has risen massively, now standing at over $229,000.
The Myrtle Beach Police Department has been praised for their swift action in securing the arrests of the three individuals. Their dedication to upholding law and justice within the community is to be commended, demonstrating their resilience and determination in maintaining order and safety within Myrtle Beach.
Unfortunately, the police report did not disclose the exact items that were stolen from the victim during this traumatic event. However, one thing is for sure: The robbery has undeniably shaken the locals as it occurred along a popular strip mall and close to a major road. Regardless, the unity shown by the community and the dedication demonstrated by the police are a ringing testament to the strength and resolve of Myrtle Beach and its citizens.
