Myrtle Beach Man Leads Police on High-Speed Chase While Disposing of Drugs

Myrtle Beach Man Leads Police on Wild Chase!

In a scene that felt like something straight out of a movie, a 26-year-old Myrtle Beach resident found himself in a bit of a sticky situation this week after leading local police on a chase that would make anyone sit up and take notice. It all started on Tuesday when police attempted to pull over a Grey Mustang driving suspiciously through a newly built neighborhood on Loop Circle, just off Highway 905.

The Chase Begins

According to reports, Officer spotted the Mustang weaving in and out of the community, and noticed something even more eyebrow-raising: the driver seemed to be switching places with a passenger before hitting the gas and speeding off. When the officer flipped on the lights, Spivey, the driver in question, took off like a rocket, zipping down Highway 905 while reportedly reaching speeds of up to 80 miles per hour.

A Bumpy Ride

Things escalated quickly from there. After making a sharp turn onto Plantation Road, Spivey was seen tossing out baggies of marijuana like confetti! It’s unclear whether he thought he could just toss his troubles away, but that’s not exactly how the law works. Talk about dramatic, right?

The chase continued, with Spivey zooming down Elbow Road when suddenly, the passenger decided it was time to bail. They leapt from the moving vehicle and sprinted into the nearby woods, leaving Spivey to face the music alone. Perhaps they thought they had a better chance of getting away on foot!

End of the Road

After a bit more pursuit, Spivey finally drove right into the yard of a home off Highway 905. At that point, he might have thought he was finally safe, but not so fast! Police searched his vehicle and found a whopping 55 grams of marijuana stashed inside. Talk about some serious illegal cargo!

Facing the Consequences

Spivey now faces some heavy charges. He’s been hit with charges for possession with the intent to distribute marijuana and, of course, for failure to stop for a blue light. After getting booked at the J Reuben Long Detention Center, he didn’t stick around for too long—he’s already been released on bond, but you can bet he’s got some serious explaining to do!

Community Impact

For those of us living in beautiful Myrtle Beach, it’s important to remember that these types of incidents can have real consequences. It certainly puts a dent in the peaceful vibe we cherish here at the coast. While we love to have a good time, the local law enforcement is hard at work to keep our community safe.

Final Thoughts

This wild ride serves as a spirited reminder that maybe, just maybe, it’s best to follow the rules of the road. Thankfully, nobody was seriously hurt during this chase, but we sure hope the folks in the Mustang learned their lesson. Next time you’re cruising around Myrtle Beach, keep it cool and collected—after all, it’s about enjoying our lovely beach vibes, not getting tangled up in a high-speed chase!
