Myrtle Beach Shakes Things Up at The Market Common

Calling all Myrtle Beach locals and visitors! If you’re planning to make a trip to The Market Common this week, get ready for a little shake-up in your parking routine. That’s right—the parking deck on Deville Street will be closing starting Wednesday for some much-needed maintenance and renovations.

What’s Going On?

This isn’t just a quick spruce-up. Workers are set to take on some significant upgrades. The plan includes removing a ramp and repairing the deck’s supporting structure, so it’s straight-up vital to the structure’s integrity. But there’s more! They’ll also be installing new lighting, switching out the HVAC unit, replacing the generator, and giving the whole deck a fresh coat of paint.

All these improvements are geared towards making your experience at The Market Common even better. We all know how vital a good parking situation is, especially during the busy beach season!

What About Bathrooms and Businesses?

Now, before you start panicking about where to go when nature calls, we’ve got good news! The public restrooms on Deville Street will be keeping their doors open during the renovation. So, you won’t have to hold it while you’re swooping in for some of that amazing shopping or grabbing a bite to eat at your fave spot.

Speaking of vibe, don’t worry about finding your favorite stores and eateries either! Access to the nearby businesses will remain available throughout these changes. So whether you’re stopping by for a quick coffee, an ice cream treat, or just doing a little window shopping, you can still hit up your go-to places without any hassle.

What’s Next?

If you think the improvements will end with the Deville Street deck, think again! There’s more in store for The Market Common. Once this deck wraps up, the renovations will shift over to the other parking deck off Farrow Parkway. This one is expected to kick off right after the Deville Street project finishes up, which is anticipated in spring 2025. So, more updates and enhancements are coming your way!

Why These Changes Matter

It’s all about making Myrtle Beach a better place to live, work, and visit. As you stroll through The Market Common, you might notice that all the little improvements make a big difference in how people enjoy the area. Having reliable parking is a small but essential part of the experience. After all, we all want our beach town to shine!

So if you’re heading to The Market Common this week, plan accordingly! Keep your eyes peeled for signage around the area, and maybe, just maybe, take this as an opportunity to discover some hidden gems while you navigate your way around. Who knows what fun spots you might find along the way!

Stay tuned for more updates on the ongoing renovations. As always, Myrtle Beach is full of surprises, and we wouldn’t want you to miss a beat!
