Myrtle Beach Embraces Off-Season: Enjoy Cycling, Dog Walks, and Water Sports as Restrictions Lift

Welcome to Myrtle Beach: Time to Enjoy the Off-Season!

As the hustle and bustle of the summer tourist season fades away, Myrtle Beach is shedding some of its restrictions and rolling out the welcome mat for locals and off-season visitors. Post-Labor Day, our beloved beaches and boardwalks become a playground of relaxation and freedom once again. Let’s dive right into what you can now enjoy that was off-limits just last week!

Pedal Power Unleashed

For those who love to bike, the wait is over! From May 1 until Labor Day, bicycles of all kinds had to stay off the beach and boardwalk between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.. But now? You can take your bike out anytime, day or night! So grab that ride, feel the beach breeze in your hair, and pedal your heart out along the shore.

Paws on the Beach

Doggone it, we know it was tough to leave your furry friends behind during the summer months! The rule during the high season was that dogs, aside from service animals, had to stay away from the beaches during the busy hours. But guess what? You can now bring your four-legged buddy along for some fun in the sand any time of the day! Just remember, a leash no longer than 7 feet is a must!

Surfing and Sailing Freedom

If you’ve been itching to ride the waves or glide on the water, you’re in luck! Until Labor Day, surfing and sailing had strict restrictions, especially with sailboats and kite surfing boards needing to maintain a distance from the beach. Now that those constraints are lifted, it’s time to grab your gear, ride those waves, and enjoy the ocean as it should be!

Room for Shade

Not only is it about the fun activities, but we all appreciate a good spot to catch some shade! During the busy summer months, you could only set up those cute little umbrellas that measured 7.5 feet in diameter on the beach. Now, the sky’s the limit, quite literally! After Labor Day, you can bring along big umbrellas up to 12 feet by 12 feet and even tall tents up to 9 feet high! So go ahead, set up your cozy nook and enjoy your beach day to the fullest.

Breaking the Cruise

And for night owls who love cruising along Ocean Boulevard, just a friendly reminder that between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m., the cruising rule is no longer in effect after Labor Day. While you had to follow certain rules during the summer, now you can take those late-night drives and soak in the beautiful views without a hitch!

Enjoy the Peace and Quiet

With the tourist season winding down, locals can revel in the quieter atmosphere Myrtle Beach provides this time of year. Whether it’s a peaceful walk along the shore or enjoying your favorite activities without the usual crowds, it’s a beautiful time to appreciate our coastal paradise.

So grab your beach gear, pack up your pup, and hit the sand! Myrtle Beach in the off-season is calling your name, and there’s a whole lot of fun waiting just outside your door. Here’s to enjoying all the freedom and beauty our coastline has to offer!
