In a major stride for the local housing sector, the Myrtle Beach Community Appearance Board gave the green light on Thursday, approving the final conceptual review of a project that seeks to construct dozens of new houses and townhomes.
The project, named ‘The Grove’ and located at 1200 Pine Island Road, promises to deliver as many as 44 single-family homes and 12 townhomes. The proposed location is strategically placed near the much-visited Coastal Grand Mall. This significant approval opens up new avenues of housing in the highly sought-after area, signaling potential growth in local real estate, and increased housing options for residents.
In another note of interest, the board also interacted with developers wanting to establish a new 7-11 convenience store at 79th Avenue N in the Marina Parkway area. The prospective convenience store, spreading across a sizeable 4,779-square-foot area, is anticipated to include a fuel canopy and parking space. Yet, a final review is still pending before the board votes on the said project.
The latest projects are expected to generate various reactions from locals. Boosters argue that aside from addressing the increasing demand for housing, the establishment of a new convenience store would certainly enhance the living standards in the area. Meanwhile, some residents might harbor anxieties over potential traffic and congestion issues that such development could bring.
The projects are likely to induce a positive economic ripple effect in the locale. In addition to boosting job opportunities in the construction sector during the buildout phase, new homeowners and the convenience store will augment spending in local businesses, such as home decor stores, food outlets, and other service sectors. Furthermore, the new homes are predicted to spur real estate transaction activities, pumping up revenues in the property market.
The bountiful opportunities presented by these development plans indeed solidify Myrtle Beach’s sparkling reputation as an upper-echelon hub for housing and retail sectors alike. HERE News Network continues to follow these projects closely and will promptly provide updates to keep its readers informed.
