As the leaves start changing and the days get a bit shorter, Myrtle Beach is embracing the arrival of fall in style! Thanks to a cool front coming down from the north, residents and visitors alike are enjoying those lovely fall-like temperatures, with highs dipping into the 60s on October 15, 16, and 17. Perfect weather for all things autumn!
One of the highlights of the fall season in the area is, of course, the delightful offerings at Thompson Farm and Nursery, located at 100 Brickyard Place in Conway. This spectacular farm is turning into an autumn wonderland for all to enjoy! And for those spooky movie lovers out there, there’s something special during October! Thompson Farm will host outdoor movie nights every Friday. Get ready for some classic Halloween fun with “The Haunted Mansion” on October 18 and “Hocus Pocus” on October 25. The farm will be open on Fridays from 5 to 10 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, making it the perfect weekend outing.
Tickets for this fall fun at Thompson Farm are priced at $15 plus a service fee. A lovely way to support the local community while having a fantastic time, don’t you think?
Another spot worth checking out this fall is Southern Palmetto Farms, located at 2601 Garner Road in Aynor. This charming farm offers their own pumpkin patch throughout October, as well as a fascinating corn maze, fun wagon rides, and even pig racing to keep everyone entertained! Southern Palmetto Farms is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and 2 to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Admission costs $12, and if you want an extra dose of magic, you can visit Miss Em’s Magical Pumpkin Patch for an additional $5.
The pig races are a highlight, with races scheduled at 12:30, 2:30, and 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays, along with 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Sundays. Who doesn’t love a good pig race in the fall?
Local businesses are also joining in on the fun by adorning their shops and restaurants with festive Halloween décor. It’s a great way to experience the community effort to celebrate this wonderful time of year.
Parker has even partnered with pilots from the Falcon Flight Academy in North Myrtle Beach to help distribute supplies via air, ensuring that no one is forgotten in this time of need. Everyone in Myrtle Beach is encouraged to contribute to this admirable cause by bringing in donations until Thursday night at Wildhorse at Parker Farms, located at 595 Parker Drive in Longs.
With fall festivities in full swing and a supportive community rallying together, Myrtle Beach is certainly a great place to be this season! Whether you’re enjoying a movie under the stars, munching on fresh goodies at the farmer’s market, or helping with hurricane relief, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in the heart of autumn.
