In April, Myrtle Beach International Film Festival marked its 19th year celebrating the world of cinema. The festival showcased over 50 diverse short and feature-length titles attracting film enthusiasts from all around the globe. This prestigious event has always been an important milestone in the city’s cultural calendar, embodying the spirit of artistry and innovation.
May brought glorious days of sporting action to Myrtle Beach. The city held its first ever PGA Tournament – The Myrtle Beach Classic. Golf enthusiasts were treated to 4 days of intense competition from May 9-12. A crowning moment for the tournament was the record-breaking attendance of 15,281 spectators, achieving the highest recorded crowd for a debut PGA Tour event.
June saw the return of the Carolina Country Music Fest, a country music extravaganza that brought together acclaimed artists including Morgan Wallen, Carrie Underwood, and Old Dominion. The 2024 festival celebrated its 9th year with foot-tapping country music echoing across the whole city. According to festival officials, the event was a soaring success with over 30,000 attendees each night.
The city’s annual Fourth of July celebration, Salute From the Shore, filled the coastline with roaring planes. Spectators, dotted along the territory from Cherry Grove to Beaufort, watched in awe as the aircraft painted the sky in tones of patriotism.
The Summer Nights at Broadway at the Beach event series was another summer feature that excited locals and tourists alike. The exciting activities ranged from fun character events to spectacular, weekly fireworks. The program ran from June 3rd to August 25th, adding to the city’s vibrant summer ambience.
