Myrtle Beach Celebrates 102-Year-Old’s Inspiring Voting Journey in 2024 Election

Myrtle Beach Gets a Dose of Inspiration as 102-Year-Old Votes in 2024 Election

In the lovely city of _Myrtle Beach_, we all felt a sense of awe and inspiration recently when a remarkable lady named Reba Willard made her way to the polls. At the stunning age of _102 years old_, Reba bravely cast her vote in the 2024 election, proving that age really is just a number!

Making It to the Polls

With a heart full of determination, Reba knew she had to make her voice heard. “I’ve always voted,” she confidently stated. She wasn’t about to let her age stop her from participating in the democratic process! Thanks to her wonderful friend, _Peggy Davis_, who has been a steadfast companion since they met in 2018, Reba was able to get to the voting station on _21st Avenue North_ in Myrtle Beach. And how cool is this? They took advantage of the _curbside voting_ option available for folks with mobility challenges. Now that’s community at its best!

A Special Friendship

The bond between Reba and Peggy is truly touching. When Peggy received that call from Reba requesting a ride to the polling place, she couldn’t say no. “She said I want to go vote, I’ve got to go cast my vote,” Peggy recalled. “I said let’s go do it then. I’m so proud of her.” It’s incredible to see such devotion and camaraderie, especially in these times when we all need a little more support.

Reba shared a bit about her personal story, saying, “I’m from a family of six children and I’m the only one left.” After losing her husband and without any children of her own, having friends like Peggy makes all the difference. They’ve forged a connection that feels like family, and it’s heartwarming to witness.

Still Sharp as a Whip!

Peggy couldn’t speak highly enough of Reba, describing her as possessing a “sweet spirit” and _sharp as a whip_. What a wonderful compliment! Even at 102, Reba’s vibrant personality shines through, showing us all that our golden years can be filled with joy, engagement, and meaningful moments.

What’s Next for Reba?

Now that Reba has checked off voting on her to-do list, there’s another big event just around the corner. Drumroll, please… On _November 6_, she will be celebrating her 103rd birthday! Can you believe it? With such a significant milestone approaching, a grand birthday bash is on the schedule for that afternoon, and it’s bound to be a party filled with love, laughter, and lots of good cheer.

This story of Reba Willard is a lovely reminder of how important it is to stay engaged and active in our communities, no matter our age. Whether we’re voting, celebrating birthdays, or just being there for our friends, each moment counts.

So let’s all raise a glass (or two) to Reba as she embarks on yet another incredible year and continues to inspire all of us in Myrtle Beach and beyond! Here’s to many more adventures and happy memories ahead!
