Hey there, Myrtle Beach! Are you ready for some entertaining golf action? The countdown has officially begun for the much-anticipated Myrtle Beach Classic Pro-Am. This exciting event is set to unfold from May 7 to May 11, 2025, and it’s shaping up to be a memorable weekend with a blend of sportsmanship and celebrity flair!
Mark your calendars, because famous actors Kurt Russell and Kevin Costner have joined the lineup of stars who will be hitting the greens. Joining them is the charming Anthony Anderson, ensuring that this year’s Pro-Am will be anything but dull! Organizers are feeling optimistic about attracting even more A-list celebrities, including country superstar Jason Aldean, the cool Jon Hamm, and the always entertaining Bill Murray. Can you imagine the buzz as they take to the golf course?
The Myrtle Beach Classic is not just any tournament. Taking place at the gorgeous Dunes Golf and Beach Club, this event is part of the prestigious PGA Tour and one of the 36 exciting events on the FedEx Cup schedule. With 132 golfers competing for a jaw-dropping $4 million purse, the stakes are high! The lucky winner could walk away with nearly $800,000, so you can bet that there will be fierce competition out there!
One of the truly heartwarming aspects of this event is the community spirit. This year, an astonishing 1,500 volunteers have signed up, surpassing expectations from previous years. It’s wonderful to see so many locals coming together to support this fantastic event. Talk about community pride!
And what’s a classic tournament without some spectacular entertainment? Get excited because there will be a lively concert featuring Soulful Sound on Thursday, and on Saturday night, Tyler Hubbard, formerly of Florida Georgia Line, will light up the stage. This brings a whole new level of excitement to the weekend!
Saturday will also be Family Day, where kids aged 15 and under can join in on the fun for free with the purchase of a ticketed adult. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy a day of golf with the whole family!
In a thoughtful move, this year’s tournament will feature a new Patriot Outpost hospitality venue dedicated to active military members and veterans. It’s a wonderful way to acknowledge and honor those who serve, enhancing their experience during the event. Additionally, there will be a Charity Corner featuring representatives from nine different charities that will benefit from a total of $250,000 in donations raised during this exciting event.
Myrtle Beach isn’t just focused on the tournament; there’s also Horry County Schools Day on April 14. This initiative will engage local high school juniors and seniors who are keen on exploring opportunities in agronomy. Such programs highlight the tournament’s commitment to supporting local youth and community growth!
While some private hospitality options are available, it’s worth noting that the premier private suite on Hole 18 has been sold out. Those attending can still expect outstanding views and a vibrant atmosphere throughout the tournament.
For fans who can’t make it in person, fear not! The tournament will be broadcast live on the Golf Channel during select times, bringing all the action right to your living room.
This year’s Myrtle Beach Classic is following up on last year’s success, where over 40,000 fans were in attendance and it generated an estimated $15.4 million in economic impact. Organizers are aiming for even greater celebrity participation, with a goal of welcoming up to 18 celebrity groups in the Pro-Am. It’s shaping up to be a spectacular event that blends the thrill of golf with the joy of community within Myrtle Beach!
