Established way back in 1983 by the late Senator Strom Thurmond, this award is all about shining a spotlight on those who show incredible dedication and achievement in law enforcement at various levels—from city and county to state and even federal. Chief Deputy Fox is one of those exceptional individuals who has made a meaningful impact in our community.

With a whopping over 40 years of experience under his belt, Chief Fox is known as a go-to expert in the field. People look to him for his knowledge, advice, and creative problem-solving. One of the coolest contributions he’s made is starting the Community Law Enforcement Appreciation Committee, which brings together law enforcement and the community for a good cause. He has played a significant role in raising nearly a million dollars to help build a women’s shelter in Horry County through his work as the Vice Chairman of the Board for the Family Justice Center of Georgetown and Horry Counties.
