In a recent press release, Visit Myrtle Beach announced with much anticipation that the popular culinary show ‘Chef Swap at the Beach’ returns with its third season this summer. This triumphant return will be marked by innovative dishes, a fresh ensemble of local chefs and an exploration of vibrant flavors on the Cooking Channel.
The new season puts a spotlight on the extensive culinary talent that thrives across the Grand Strand. This season brings together a dynamic team of 16 skilled chefs hailing from the Myrtle Beach area, spread across seven compelling episodes. The premiere episode will be broadcast on Saturday, August 17, at 7 p.m., with new episodes following on subsequent Saturdays.
“The return of ‘Chef Swap at the Beach’ underlines the thriving culinary scene we foster in the Myrtle Beach area. This season, we will be introducing a fresh batch of world-class chefs, elaborate menus filled with farm-to-table and sea-to-table ingredients, all reflecting a wide range of flavors.
The third season carries forward the legacy of the show’s first two seasons, this time, presenting an enthralling display of local culinary passion and community support. Chef Mason Zeglen, a two-time winner of Food Network’s “Guy Grocery Games” and a prior contestant on HBO Max’s “The Big Brunch”, will return as the host of the third season. Chef Zeglen also owns Milk & Honey Coffee Cafe in Surfside Beach.
“The level of talent we have showcased in the past seasons was exceptional, and I am truly privileged to be back to continue representing Myrtle Beach’s amazing chefs. This season is much more than a competition; it celebrates the stories of the diverse, passionate, and dedicated chefs that shape our community.”
Each episode of the exciting new season will feature two regional chefs who will swap kitchens and create delectable new dishes. These creations will then be scrutinized by experienced judges and industry experts Dylan Foster and Johanna Wilson Jones. The season’s climax will present students from the International Culinary Institute, mentored by accomplished chefs.
The selected 16 chefs aptly represent the area’s diverse culinary landscape. Some of the chefs featured in this season include Kenny Adams of Wild Wing Golf Course, Aquib Ahmed from Bombay at the Beach, and Ivan Almeida of Whiskey Roots, among others.
