Carnival lights gleamed on smiling faces and happy hearts in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, as residents and visitors came together at the 2nd Annual Myrtle Beach Mad Dawgs Club Children’s Benefit, a carnival-themed fundraiser supporting several children’s charities. The fun-filled event took place on Sunday at the popular Drifter’s Saloon. Organizers decorated the locale with festive carnival motifs and an array of entertaining activities to entertain and attract all guests.
The event had something for everyone. Equipped with old-fashioned carnival games, raffle drawings, and even a dunk tank, the fund-raiser provided countless opportunities for fervent support, hearty laughs, and community interaction. The spotlight was on the Mad Dawgs Club in this instance, a Cleveland Browns club with a charitable heart.
“The club has been a pillar of support to local children’s charities for the past 23 years, dispensing contributions of over $90,000. We aspire to enhance this amount significantly through our event,” stated Laci Peiffer, the diligent manager of Drifter’s Saloon.
Double the joy of any carnival is, of course, the cause it supports. Proceeds from Sunday’s event were directed to three essential children’s charities – Freedom Readers, Sea Haven for Youth, and Grand Strand Miracle Leagues. Each of these non-profit organizations has tirelessly dedicated itself to enhancing the lives of children across diverse dimensions – from education and reading programs to safe havens for at-risk adolescents, and sports opportunities for those with special needs.
This year’s carnival-themed fundraiser followed in the successful footsteps of the inaugural event last year, which gathered more than $5,000 for local charities. The organizers and participants alike are eager to continue this legacy. The event was all about sowing the seeds of compassion, advocating for local charities, and making a difference in the lives of children, one game, and one dunk at a time.
The Myrtle Beach Mad Dawgs Club, along with its countless supporters and local businesses like Drifter’s Saloon, showed the power of collective action. For every child that benefits from their generous contributions and efforts, their actions resonate. To them and to all the guests who attended the carnival, it was, above all, about the children and their future.
The 2nd Annual Myrtle Beach Mad Dawgs Club Children’s Benefit perfectly showed that when a community bands together with shared concern and fervor, remarkable changes can occur – and the lives of children can be uplifted beyond imagined realms.
