A local motorcyclist lost his life days after encountering a tragic accident involving an animal on a busy road in Clemson, South Carolina.
On August 21, around 10 p.m., the motorcyclist was heading north on Lawrence Bridge Road when an animal suddenly came onto the road, leading to a disastrous crash, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP). The unexpected presence of the animal caused the motorcyclist to lose control and fall onto the roadway.
The officials stated that the driver was immediately rushed to Greenville Memorial Hospital due to the severity of his injuries. Tragically, he could not survive despite all efforts and succumbed to his injuries on August 26, five days following the accident.
The Oconee County Coroner’s Office recognized the victim as 27-year-old Jarrett Phillips. His death was labeled as accidental.
This incident marks a grim reminder of the unpredictability of road accidents, bringing attention back to the crucial need for increased roadway safety measures.
