Sponsor Our ArticlesAs the sun sets on another warm October day in Myrtle Beach, animal lovers have something special to look forward to this Friday! It’s the much-anticipated Mask Fur Aid Ball, organized by the dedicated folks at the Coastal Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.) Wilmington. After a little break due to that pesky pandemic, the ball is back, and it’s about to kick off the Halloween season in style!
Picture this: a lively masquerade-themed evening full of live music, dancing, and fabulous auction items all in the name of helping animals in need. Sounds fun, right? Dr. Laurie Parish from C.A.R.E. Wilmington shared that this year’s event has some really cool highlights, including around 40 unique masks designed by local artists. “We’re auctioning them off prior to the event,” Dr. Parish explained. This way, you get to snag a stylish mask to rock at the ball while supporting a fantastic cause!
This year’s ball isn’t just about the dancing and mingling; it’s also your chance to win some amazing items! Guests can participate in both live and silent auctions, featuring a variety of prizes that promise to tickle everyone’s fancy. From a full year of dining out with a 12-month restaurant package to relaxing self-care bundles, and even themed gift packages customized for men and children, there’s something for everyone!
You might be wondering, where does all this fun money go? Great question! Proceeds from the Mask Fur Aid Ball directly support C.A.R.E. Wilmington’s mission, which is all about helping animals—especially those who are homeless or have medical needs. Operated through Atlantic Animal Hospital, C.A.R.E. goes above and beyond, providing essential care for animals that might be overlooked elsewhere. Their goal is to help these furry friends recover and find loving homes!
Excited yet? We are! The Mask Fur Aid Ball kicks off at 6 p.m. at The Terraces on Sir Tyler, which is a pretty fantastic venue for a celebration like this. You can expect groovy tunes and spinning lights from local DJ duo, the Beehive Blondes, making sure there’s never a dull moment on the dance floor.
Don’t forget to dress to impress! Guests are encouraged to wear their best cocktail attire along with fun and fancy masquerade masks. Tickets are easy to grab via C.A.R.E. Wilmington’s website, or you can check out their Facebook and Instagram pages for more info. Can’t attend but still want to make a difference? You can contribute online and show your support for animals needing care.
This event is not just about having a good time (although that’s a big part of it); it’s also a chance to come together as a community and do something wonderful for our furry friends in need. So mark your calendars, gather your friends, and let’s make this Mask Fur Aid Ball a night to remember!
Here’s to an evening full of joy, compassion, and of course, plenty of adorable animals! 🐾
