In an exciting development for art enthusiasts, “Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience” will touch down in Myrtle Beach next month. The exhibit is set at Broadway at the Beach, near the 21st Avenue N. entrance, inviting visitors to enter into some of the world’s most iconic paintings.
Having captivated audiences in multiple locations across the globe, the exhibit has sold a commendable seven million tickets, which stand testament to its allure. The Van Gogh experience, according to Fanny Curtat, an art historian consultant for the exhibit, is a unique amalgamation of art and magic.
“It’s like you’re walking on starlight,” said Curtat. “You have children running around following restaurants twirling around with petals. There’s something so magical about it that truly happens when you’re in it.”
The exhibit beckons attendees into an immersive room that seamlessly merges 300 of the Dutch artist’s works into a unified narrative. This journey explores familiar favorites such as “The Starry Night,” “Sunflowers” and “Cafe Terrace at Night” where paintings are sprawled across walls, facilitated by projection technology, and a curated soundtrack to provide a deeper dive into Van Gogh’s inner universe.
Additionally, it offers an educational room featuring personal letters from the artist to his brother and longtime supporter, Theo – a chance for a more personal understanding of the man behind the art.
The experience transcends age and art mastery, making it an exciting venture for art connoisseurs and novices alike. “There’s something in it for truly everyone,” said Curtat. “Van Gogh’s work is really about bringing people together.”
The exhibit is set to open on June 21 and will operate daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased online or at the entrance of the exhibit.
