Little River, SC – On a somewhat typical Friday morning around 9:52 a.m., things took a sharp turn when a two-vehicle crash occurred at the busy intersection of Highway 17 and Fairway Drive. Local drivers were greeted with unexpected delays as emergency responders raced to the scene to assist those involved.
The crash, which involved two vehicles, resulted in injuries to three individuals. Thankfully, it seems that everyone is receiving the care they need, as these individuals were swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Our hearts go out to those injured, and we hope they have a speedy recovery.
If you’re in the area today, you might want to steer clear of that intersection. As to be expected, emergency crews have closed off several lanes, and traffic is already feeling the effects. It’s best to find an alternate route if you can. We all know how vital patience is in situations like this, especially when the weekend is just around the corner!
The Horry County Fire Rescue team was quick on the scene, demonstrating excellent professionalism and dedication to ensuring safety. They evaluated the situation and provided the necessary medical attention to those injured. On top of the immediate concern for those injured, the South Carolina Highway Patrol has stepped in to investigate the entire incident. It’s common procedure to figure out exactly what happened. Was distraction involved? Poor road conditions? Whatever the reason, we trust they’ll get to the bottom of it.
As always, it’s a good reminder for everyone to stay attentive when behind the wheel. Little River is a beautiful place, and we all want to keep it safe for residents and visitors alike. Let’s all make sure we’re obeying speed limits, putting away distractions, and keeping a lookout for one another on the road.
