Myrtle Beach, S.C: In an act of immense reverence for law enforcement officials, a band of passionately driven cyclists put stamps on their tires from Florida to Washington, D.C. On Tuesday, their honorable journey led them to pay tribute to the Myrtle Beach Police Department.
This group, comprised of dedicated active and retired law enforcement professionals, survivors, and civilian supporters are brought together under the cause of the Law Enforcement United (LEU) Ride Stop. Cycling teams from across the diverse expanse of the country are joining forces, riding their bikes all the way to D.C in honor of their brave counterparts who serve to protect the peace.
The poignant aim of the LEU’s mission is twofold; on one hand, it seeks to honor the memory of officers who have tragically fallen in the line of duty, and on the other, it seeks to provide recognition and support for the survivors left in the wake of such devastating losses.
The group kicked off their visit to the Myrtle Beach Police Department with their spirits high, each cyclist carrying with them the heavy honor and respect they hold for their comrades. They took the opportunity to express their gratitude to the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association for their generosity in providing dinner to the dedicated cyclists. The Horry County Sheriff’s Office received particular acknowledgment for their priceless contribution towards the safety of the riders while they were in Horry County, and their unwavering commitment towards the cause.
