In an invigorating shuffle of leadership, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has rolled out a series of new appointments across various stakes, introducing fresh faces and dynamic experiences to guide their local congregations. These appointments span multiple regions, illustrating the church’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and spiritual leadership. Here we explore the new presidents and their counselors from different stakes, highlighting their professional backgrounds and familial ties.
At the helm is Nathan Robert Lingard, 48, who has stepped in as President, backed by his experience as a design phase director at Mortenson Construction. He succeeds Paul Williams Wilson. Lingard’s leadership team includes counselors Dale Ray Wills, 53, CEO of Centra Cos, and Fabian Gerardo Fernandez, 48, a professor at the University of Minnesota.
In the Bloomington Utah Stake, Jonathan Michael Cole, 41, takes over as President, bringing entrepreneurial vigor from his role as owner and president of Redstone Cos. He follows Robert McBride Jensen in leadership. His counsel is provided by James Peregrine White III, 61, Vice President at Irvine Construction, and Justin W Bundy, 48, a self-employed business owner.
The Calgary Bow River Stake welcomes Stefan Oliver Erasmus, 52, who is recognized as CEO of Werklund Family Office. Succeeding Kevin Clark Thompson, Erasmus leads with the guidance of counselors Jupiter Flores Gutierrez, 41, and James William Ellis, 49, showcasing a blend of engineering and corporate expertise.
Taking charge of the Cedar City Utah West Stake is Caleb James Duncan, 35, acting as the Associate General Counsel at Leavitt Group Enterprises. He succeeds Michael Wallace Heap, with support from counselors Trent Merrill Nielsen, 50, and Lee Gardner Wood, 62.
In Cottonwood Heights, David Richard Barnes, 55, an emergency physician, takes over as President following Roger Dee Henriksen. He is assisted by counselors Alonzo Tyler Howe and Eric James Passey.
Ravi Jarom Natasan, 54, has been designated as the new President of the Durban South Africa Stake, stepping in after Matthews Zwelethu Mhlongo. Natasan is supported by counselors Kelvin Hlanganani Gwala and Douglas Martin Mason Greyling, enhancing the church’s local leadership.
Leadership in Madison, Alabama has transitioned to David Elliott Dunford, 57, an IT Executive, who succeeds William Kuenn Drake. His team includes knowledgeable counselors Nathan Thomas Mayfield and Lyman Christopher Brown.
Murfreesboro now sees Roger Dallas Olsen, 48, an Assistant Vice President of Finance, stepping into the Presidency, succeeding Joseph Sanford Pennington. Counselors Daniel Paul Seegmiller and Loren Christopher Dennis join him in leadership.
Jeffrey Sean Case, 45, a professor at Coastal Carolina University, takes over the Myrtle Beach Stake presidency. Following Joseph Craig Jennings, Case is accompanied by counselors James Merlin Fish and Stacy Maughan Cheney.
In Palmdale, Joseph Christopher Cornwall, 62, a special education teacher, succeeds Justin Thomas Knowles and is supported by experienced counselors William B Thacker and Thomas Lee Llewellyn.
Leadership in Roswell now belongs to James Mason Mitchell, 45, owner of James Hamilton Construction Co.. He steps in for Joe Shannon Magill and is supported by counselors Marcus Alexander Bluth and Phil George Davis.
In a move filled with anticipation, Jorge Abinadi Romero Vasquez, 40, joins as the President in San Salvador after Jarol Oman Turcios Cabrera. His counselors are José David Sanchez Gutierrez and Milton Marcelo Hernandez Esquivel.
Leading São João da Boa Vista is Rodrigo Sant’Angelo de Oliveira, 39, known for his role as General Manager at Ferragens Tavares. He follows Daniel Augusto Silva into leadership with counsel from Luiz Fernando Verta Macedo and Eduardo Geremias Pinto Jr..
Matthew Paul Bright, 48, the Owner and CEO of Caring Touch, takes over in Sarasota from Rick J Dreiling. His leadership will be bolstered by counselors Tyler James Saxey and Sergio Bizarro Romero.
At Spanish Fork, the Presidents’ seat is filled by Ross Everett Varner, 44, a Director at Zions Bancorp. He succeeds David Scott Mickelson and is flanked by counselors James Christian Biesinger II and Klinton Edward Hobbs.
Tucson Arizona South’s new President is Brett Elmo Bergeson, 61, who has previously served as an Internal Auditor. He follows Sidney Benson Henderson. His support team includes Stuart Gerber Nielson and Adam Scott McDonald.
Jeffrey William Gabbitas, 52, has been appointed President in Tucson Arizona West, succeeding Loren Ted Somerville. His team features counselors Trym Helaman Gibbons and David Lloyd Udall.
In Nigeria, Anietie Monday Dick, 31, operates as a self-employed CEO appointed to lead this stake after Alexander Etuwewe. He is joined by counselors Ukpono Nkereuwem Umoren and Solomon Joseph Umoh.
Finally, Ganbold Tsend-Ayush, 41, has been positioned as President of the Ulaanbaatar Mongolia West Stake, following Ganbat Ganbold. His counselors include Chuluunbat Lkhagvadorj and Sergelenbaatar Oyungerel.
