K9 Yep, a four-legged hero, has had an outstanding run with the Myrtle Beach PD. Over the years, she has been deployed a whopping 515 times! Yes, you read that right! That’s no small feat for a pup, and it clearly shows how integral she has been to the team’s efforts in keeping our community safe.
But wait, there’s more! This extraordinary dog took part in over 100 arrests. Just imagine the number of times she helped track down bad guys and keep the streets clean in Myrtle Beach. Not to mention, she conducted over 70 article searches, leading to numerous discoveries that would otherwise have evaded the authorities.
Throughout her career, K9 Yep has not only demonstrated her incredible nose for detecting drugs but also played a crucial role in significant drug busts. She has been credited with the seizure of 13 pounds of marijuana, five pounds of meth, and even 10 ounces of fentanyl. On top of that, her efforts led to the confiscation of an astonishing approximately $90,000 in cash!
These achievements paint a picture of a dedicated canine officer committed to serving her community. The officers at the Myrtle Beach Police Department can’t thank her enough for her contributions to their team and to the safety of our townsfolk.
As the retirement party unfolded, it was clear that K9 Yep wasn’t just a police dog; she was a cherished member of the MBPD family.
