Golfing Just Got a Whole Lot Cooler with Indoor Simulators in Estero!
Have you noticed how all those outdoor golf driving ranges seem to be disappearing around Southwest Florida? Seemingly overnight, they’ve been swapped out for busy street corners and new businesses. But fear not, golf lovers! The good news is that indoor golf simulators are stepping in to fill the void—and they’re taking the sport to exciting new heights!
The Birth of The Cave
Introducing The Cave, a brand-new haven for golfers located at 9250 Corkscrew Road, Suite 13, Estero. This is not just your average golf simulator; it’s a full-on **bar and restaurant** experience that also offers three amazing golf simulators! Owners Karen Nicoletti, a pro golfer with the LPGA, and her husband Brad Swearingen, a former pro caddy, opened their doors on February 4 and they have big dreams.
Picture this: as you step inside, you’re greeted by the smell of delicious food from their enticing menu that includes everything from pizza to wings to a variety of appetizers. Not only can you enjoy some fantastic food and drinks, but you also get to practice or play golf without the hefty price tag of a real course! With a rate of $50 an hour for the simulator that accommodates up to six people, it’s more affordable than hitting the links—especially compared to less than $800 to play on actual Pebble Beach!
Bringing Golf to Everyone
Nicoletti pointed out something interesting: “The pandemic was great for golf,” she said. “Public golf courses are hitting their all-time high!” However, she went on to explain, “It’s tough for the average person to be able to afford the sport. There are a lot of people who love the game, but there are very few places to play.” That’s where The Cave comes in to save the day!
What’s even cooler is that on Mondays, they’re offering free women’s golf clinics. Additionally, they have specials for veterans, police, firefighters, emergency medical services, and educators. Talk about community love!
More Than Just Golf
But wait, there’s more! The Cave is not just about hitting golf balls. Swearingen, who had to adapt his plans due to a back injury that sidelined his caddy career, said, “When I was recovering, I needed a Plan B.” And that’s how The Cave, or as he calls it, “The Man Cave,” came to life. He built it with his own hands, pouring in a vision of what a perfect hangout spot for golfers should look like.
They even have plans for two indoor pickleball courts later this year. So if golf isn’t your thing, there’s something for everyone!
Golf Without Intimidation!
One of the best parts about The Cave is its welcoming atmosphere. “Coming here, you don’t have to worry about being intimidated,” Nicoletti assured. The simulators cater to golfers of all skill levels—beginners, intermediates, and advanced players can all feel right at home. Plus, they even have fun games for the kiddos!
Swearingen demonstrated how it works by swinging into the simulator screen. As a real ball hit the screen, the virtual ball followed the trajectory and landed on the green! “It might take a little getting used to,” he noted. “But it’s so accurate and so realistic that you soon think you’re really out on the golf course. You’ll see—it’s super realistic.”
