Myrtle Beach is embracing the trend of indoor golf with new facilities that cater to enthusiasts year-round. With the opening of the Mashie Golf Institute and upcoming venues like Golfluent and Performance Indoor Golf, local golfers can now practice their skills regardless of weather conditions. These innovative spaces are equipped with cutting-edge technology and aim to foster community engagement around the sport, making it an exciting time for golf lovers in the area.
Myrtle Beach, known as the Golf Capital of the World, is finally catching up with the trend of indoor golf facilities, providing much-needed training options for local golf lovers. Despite its rich history and favorable golfing climate, the area has long been without a dedicated indoor space where golfers could hone their skills, rain or shine. But hang tight; the wait is over!
Chris Griffin, who made his way back to Myrtle Beach from California, felt a strong pull to swing some clubs again. After pouring in about $11,000 on lessons and rounds of golf, the frustration with the lack of indoor options stirred a new passion in him. This led to the inception of the Mashie Golf Institute, marking Myrtle Beach’s very first indoor golf facility. Located in an old CVS training area, this impressive venue spans a whopping 8,000 square feet and is all set to transform the local golfing scene.
Inside the Mashie Golf Institute, golf enthusiasts can look forward to an array of features designed for high-quality training. The facility houses a carefully crafted putting green and three state-of-the-art golf simulators that transport players to some of the most well-known golf courses around the globe. Excitingly, in the coming months, a certified PGA golf pro will join the team, further enhancing the training opportunities.
For anyone worried about the weather putting a damper on their golf plans, fear not! The Mashie Golf Institute will remain open during all weather conditions, making it an ideal spot for year-round practice. Currently in a soft opening phase, the grand unveiling is planned for February 2025, and it promises to be a remarkable addition to Myrtle Beach’s lineup of golfing attractions.
But wait, there’s more! Just around the corner in Little River, Golfluent is set to launch an indoor golf training facility that is family-friendly and vibrant. Slated to open in early to mid-January, this venue will feature five simulators and cover around 6,000 square feet. Access to more than 350 virtual courses will be available, ensuring that there’s something for everyone. The facility aims to foster a fun atmosphere that encourages families to bond over golf without the typical bar and restaurant distractions that often come with golf facilities. Prices for a half-hour session will start at $40 and can accommodate groups of up to four people, making it a pocket-friendly option for family outings.
If that wasn’t enough to pique your interest, Performance Indoor Golf has already opened its doors in Pawleys Island back in September. This facility features three advanced hitting bays packed with the latest technology for an enhanced golfing experience. Golfers can take advantage of various membership options or opt for a casual visit at $50 for a two-hour day pass. Open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, Performance Indoor Golf offers unparalleled flexibility for enthusiasts looking to fit a round into their busy lives.
The emergence of these three indoor golf facilities marks a significant milestone in addressing the previously unmet demand for golf training spaces in the Myrtle Beach area. With a shared commitment to foster community engagement, both the Mashie Golf Institute and Golfluent are set to host local events catering to both residents and tourists, bringing golf lovers together.
All these facilities incorporate advanced technology such as launch monitors, precise impact data tracking, and tailored golfing experiences, elevating the way athletes connect with the game.
As the trend of indoor golf continues to grow, Myrtle Beach is well on its way to fulfilling the desires of its local golfers while inviting more enthusiasts to embrace the sport all year round. Now, thanks to these inventive facilities, golfers have more options than ever before to fine-tune their swings and sharpen their skills, regardless of what Mother Nature has in store.
