CONWAY, S.C. — Coastal Carolina University is set to host a significant community event, Ed’s Hurricane Hustle, on June 1, 2024. The event is designed not only to promote fitness but also to educate attendees on hurricane preparedness.
The event will include a 5K run starting at 8:00 AM and a one-mile fun run at 8:10 AM. Participants are encouraged to register promptly as the registration fee increases after May 30.
Participants can pick up their race packets at the Black Dog Running Company, located at 1600 Farrow Pkwy Unit B-1, Myrtle Beach, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, or on the race day between 7:00 AM and 7:45 AM at Brooks Stadium.
Parking is available at the GG and KK lots on campus, with the GG lot located at the front along Highway 501 and the KK lot behind Lackey Chapel.
The race will finish on the Teal Turf at Brooks Stadium, offering a picturesque end to the run.
Following the race, an educational Hurricane Expo will be held, featuring presentations by government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and local experts on hurricane readiness, including a forecast for the 2024 season by Chief Meteorologist Ed Piotrowski.
The event aims to enhance community spirit, promote health, and provide vital information on hurricane safety and preparedness.
