Horry County Police Make Arrest in Suspected Road Rage Shooting

Incident Overview

In a significant breakthrough, an arrest has been made in relation to a suspected road-rage shooting incident along a busy Horry County road. The accused, Leslie Hatchell, 36, allegedly opened fire on Highway 544 on Tuesday afternoon. He has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Police Response to the Incident

According to a detailed police report, a Horry County police officer happened to be in the vicinity of the incident around 12 p.m. The victim managed to flag down the patrolling officer, following which both vehicles pulled over. The victim then reported to the police officer that an unidentified individual had fired several gunshots at them. The victim’s claims were later substantiated by supporting evidence found at the scene.

Suspect’s Arrest and Detention

The accused, Hatchell, was subsequently apprehended by the police in connection with the shooting. The report, however, does not specify the location or the circumstances leading to Hatchell’s arrest. He is currently being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center under a $30,000 bond.
