Horry County Residents Excited About Upcoming RIDE 4 Initiative

Exciting Changes Ahead for Horry County!

Hey there, Horry County! As a proud local and longtime business owner, I’m buzzing with excitement about something that’s coming up on our ballots. It’s a big one: RIDE 4! So, what’s the scoop on this initiative, and why should you care? Let’s break it down in a friendly, straightforward way.

What is RIDE 4?

First off, RIDE stands for Road Improvements and Development Efforts. This isn’t some fly-by-night plan; this has been around since the late 1990s! RIDE has already helped fund loads of important infrastructure projects in our community, like the construction of SC 31, the Carolina Bays Parkway, and widening Carolina Forest Boulevard. Quite a track record, right?

But here’s the best part: RIDE doesn’t come from a new tax imposed on us. Instead, about 66% of the funds for the RIDE projects come from the tourists who visit our beautiful area. So, while they’re out enjoying our beaches and attractions, they’re also helping to pave the way for a smoother commute for us locals!

Why Do We Need RIDE 4?

Now, you might be thinking, “Sounds good, but why do we need it now?” Well, our region is growing fast! With growth comes the need for improved infrastructure. We all want safe roads, shorter travel times, and better access to services, like Emergency Medical Services (EMS). That’s where RIDE 4 steps in.

Imagine cruising down improved local roads like SC Hwy 90, East Cox Ferry Road, and River Oaks Drive. Plus, major projects like an interstate connector and a southern connector will make life so much easier! And let’s not forget about the much-needed crossing over the Waccamaw River. Talk about getting us where we need to go, without the stress of heavy traffic!

A Community Effort

Supporting RIDE 4 isn’t just about fixing potholes or clearing up congestion — though we all know that’s pretty important! It’s also about creating opportunities for our community. Good roads and transit systems help improve our quality of life. They give our children better access to jobs and support a vibrant local economy.

Every single one of us stands to benefit from this initiative. It’s about making our neighborhoods better places to live, work, and play. Why not invest in our future? Together, we can create the infrastructure our community deserves!

Make Your Voice Heard

As we approach the voting day, I highly encourage all of you — my fellow Horry County residents, local businesses, and community leaders — to research RIDE 4 and understand its benefits. You’ll find it as the last and longest question on your ballot. Take a moment to think about what a ‘yes’ vote means for our community. Imagine how much smoother our commutes could be and how much easier our lives will become!

Voting on this measure gives you the power to help shape the future of Horry County. It’s a simple choice that could lead to greater opportunities for all of us. So next time you’re out driving on those busy roads or waiting in traffic, remember that RIDE 4 could be the key to a smoother ride!

Let’s rally together for the improvement of our beloved Horry County! Vote yes on RIDE 4!
