Horry County Man Arrested for Attempted Break-In at Neighbor’s Residence

An Upsetting Event

In a rather unsettling event in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, a man was reportedly taken into custody over last weekend for allegedly attempting a break-in at his neighbor’s home. The suspect, identified as Jonathan Joseph, aged 36, has been reportedly charged with a count of first-degree burglary.

The incident was reported from Kingsley Drive which compelled the Horry County Police Department to investigate charges of a potential burglary. As per the complaint lodged with the police, the house owner accused their next-door neighbor, who was later identified as Joseph, of trying to forcibly enter their home.

The Arrest

The officers from the county’s police department discovered Joseph in his home garage and effectively detained him. The police managed to establish communication with the victim, who disclosed that they were currently located out of the state, in Massachusetts, at the time of the break-in attempt.

They further explained that their doorbell camera alerted them of a visitor at the door, revealing Joseph armed with a hammer, approaching their front door. The victim claimed that the camera footage captured Joseph damaging a security sign placed in a flower bed using the hammer and then attempting to bash the front door to gain unauthorized access.

Unveiling More Evidence

Upon inspecting the site of the alleged break-in attempt, the police officer in charge discovered a spade drill bit of 3/4 inch size and a broken part of a knife blade lodged in between the two doors at the front of the house. Following this incident, Joseph was handcuffed and refused to cooperate with the police officers.

According to the records, in addition to the charge of first-degree burglary, Joseph is currently facing yet another unrelated charge related to drug trafficking. An April arrest linked to this charge reportedly led to the recovery of nearly 20 grams of methamphetamine from his possession at his residence.

Current Status

As of the recent update on Monday afternoon, records from the J. Reuben Long Detention Center indicate that Joseph is being held under custody with no bond set as yet. We intend to keep our readers updated with the latest developments in this case.
