Hey there, Myrtle Beach residents! The holiday season is just around the corner, and believe it or not, there are fewer than 50 days until Christmas! If you’re looking to get into the festive spirit, you’re in luck! This weekend, the Dickens Christmas Show & Festival is underway, and it’s shaping up to be quite the delightful experience for everyone.
Running from November 7-10 at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, this annual holiday event is a treasure trove of goodies and cheer! Attendees can browse through hundreds of vendors showcasing everything from stunning jewelry to mouth-watering gourmet treats, as well as a variety of arts and crafts. It’s a splendid opportunity to pick up unique gifts for loved ones, or perhaps something special just for yourself!
But wait, there’s more! The show features a Festival of Trees display, where you can feast your eyes on beautifully decorated trees that are sure to inspire your holiday decorating plans. And if that doesn’t get you humming “Jingle Bells,” then the Santa through the Ages exhibit will! You’ll get a chance to take a look at the evolution of Santa Claus through different decades and styles.
As if that isn’t enough, get ready for some toe-tapping tunes! A charming barbershop quartet will be on hand to serenade guests with classic carols, spreading that joyful holiday cheer throughout the convention center. What better way to ring in the holiday season than with some festive music?
This year, the festival has attracted a variety of local vendors eager to share their creations with you. One excited vendor is Lisa Orlando of The Painted Petal, who shared her thoughts on the event: “It’s been a great experience. So far, it’s a beautiful show. I’m able to showcase what I do and it’s just been really, really nice. This is my first time actually doing the show, so I’m excited to see what today and the weekend brings!”
The enthusiasm from vendors like Lisa adds a charming personal touch to the event, making it a true community affair. You’ll have the opportunity to engage with artisans and makers, learning the stories behind their crafted items and perhaps discovering something truly one-of-a-kind.
So, whether you’re aiming to snag some delightful holiday gifts, soak in the festive atmosphere, or simply enjoy a fun outing with family and friends, the Dickens Christmas Show & Festival is the perfect destination this weekend. With its vibrant displays, engaging performances, and local charm, it promises to be a highlight in your holiday calendar.
Gather your loved ones and head down to the Myrtle Beach Convention Center before the festival wraps up on Sunday. Experience the magic of the season, and let the holiday spirit ignite your hearts early this year!
