Group bikes from FL to DC to honor law enforcement; visits Myrtle Beach Police

Fundraising Cyclists Visit Myrtle Beach Police on Their Cross-Country Journey

Earlier this week, Myrtle Beach, S.C., hosted a unique group of visitors. A contingent of cyclists, journeying from Florida to Washington D.C., made a pitstop at the city’s police department as part of their mission to honor law enforcement personnel across the country.

Honoring the Fallen, Recognizing Survivors

The cyclists are part of the Law Enforcement United (LEU), a non-profit organization featuring active and retired law enforcement professionals, victims’ kin and civilian supporters. Their goal is to remember those who have fallen in the line of duty and recognize survivors.

Their journey to D.C, christened LEU Ride Stop, is not just symbolic; it’s also a significant fundraiser. With every pedal stroke, the team raises essential funds for programs that assist grief-stricken families and affected co-workers of officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

A Warm Myrtle Beach Welcome

The Myrtle Beach Police Department was a gracious host to these road riders, expressing gratitude for their dedicated efforts in a recent Facebook post. They thanked the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association for arranging dinner for the cyclists and appreciated the efforts of various agencies that ensure the safety of the riders during their epic journey.

The post also reserved a special mention for the Horry County Sherriff’s Office, who played a pivotal role in securing the cyclists’ safety while they were in Horry County.

Continuing the Journey

After their brief stopover in Myrtle Beach, the cyclists will resume their soul-stirring trip to Washington D.C., where a gathering of teams from various regions is scheduled. The teams will then proceed with ceremonies and events acknowledging the sacrifice and valor of the country’s law enforcement officers — a reminder of their journey’s symbolic objective.

By committing to this challenging journey of over 1,000 miles, the cycling crusaders underscore the significance of their mission and reinforce their commitment to honoring the sacrifices made by law enforcement personnel nationwide.

As the LEU Ride Stop team continues their long trek toward D.C., the entire nation watches in respectful admiration of their nobility and fervor. These riders epitomize solidarity and respect, bridging the divide between civilians and law enforcement one pedal stroke at a time.

Their journey, fueled by their deep sense of gratitude, aims to bring people together to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, while bolstering support for the brave officers who continue to protect our communities daily.

This poignant journey not only sets a benchmark for honoring our law enforcement heroes but also inspires every citizen to express their appreciation in their own unique ways.
