Hey there, Myrtle Beach! It looks like our wallets are feeling a little less pressure at the pumps, and that’s always good news, right? Despite a couple of weeks of rising prices, the average cost of gas in our sunny city is hovering around $2.78 per gallon. Now, that’s only a 7-cent increase from last week, so let’s break it down!
Just last week, we saw a smaller spike of 6.3 cents per gallon, but the amazing news is that in comparison to a month ago, we’re actually paying 6.2 cents less. So, while it may seem like prices are creeping up, we’re still getting a bit of a deal overall.
If you’re looking for a bargain, the cheapest gas in Myrtle Beach this past Sunday was priced at an attractive $2.59. Meanwhile, the more pricey spots were showing off their $2.99 price tags. Not too shabby, considering how prices can easily climb higher during certain seasons!
Turning our eyes outward, across South Carolina, the average gas price ticked up by 4.2 cents in the past week, now averaging $2.80 a gallon. Neighboring North Carolina is joining in on the trend with a slight increase of 1 cent, bringing their average to $2.89 per gallon. It looks like the regional scene is definitely showing signs of movement!
As we look forward, experts suggest that the median U.S. gas price is around $2.95 per gallon, the lowest we’ve seen since 2021. This could mean that it’s only a matter of time before the national average dips below $3 per gallon for the first time since last May—something that would be a breath of fresh air, especially with the holidays right around the corner.
As Thanksgiving approaches, many of us will be grateful for lower fuel prices, whether it’s to travel to see family or just to enjoy our local beaches and attractions. So, keep your eyes on those gas prices, Myrtle Beach! We’ll be sure to keep you updated as the situation evolves. Until then, happy driving!
